root beer tissues

today was really funny for some reason.

the funniest things kept happening! but, in kindergarten,

a little boy came up to me as i was sitting by the tower

of tissue boxes and pointed at one then said, rather excitedly,

with that cute little excited glow that kids get,

"miss ence! are those root beer tissues?!"

i couldn't help but chuckle as i said, "wait, what?"

he repeated, "are those root beer tissues?" (yes, i heard right)

"because i love root beer above all other drinks mmm mmm!"

i was laughing so hard, but explained just the box was brown,

that the tissues weren't flavored or smelly. he looked rather

disappointed, then said, "miss ence, you wanna know what?"

(then before i had time to reply), "i'm gonna invent the first

root beer tissues in the world and earn 100 dollars!!"

then he walked away. i laughed for a good five minutes.

kids say the darndest things!
