kids will be kids

this morning i taught my last 2 PE lessons (hoooray!)  fourth graders can be SO competitive, wow.  i had no idea.  definitely lots of funny things happened today (they always do when you're working with kids...!)  but 2 worth noting:

one boy walked in and when he found out we were playing soccer he proceeded to have a 5 min. discussion with this girl about why we don't call soccer football.  he was convinced that america was trying to revolutionalize the whole world because we were trying to change all the sports that don't even belong to us, and for sports that do belong to us, we stole names of other sports to name them.  he kept saying "we can't even think of our own names, sheesh! what kind of a country do i live in?!"  silly silly.

mrs. smith brought in her baby puppies today!  they are absolutely adorable and it got the kids so excited.  my favorite part was watching these fourth grade boys that always try and put on such a tough face and "i'm too cool for school" attitude completely melt around these dogs.
just goes to show that kids will always be kids no matter how much they want to and try to be grown up.
